at Whiting’s Neck Equestrian Center (WNEC) is a fun, active, and healthy place for children ages 6 to 17 to learn
about and love horses. The days are spent in a relaxed, informal atmosphere where safety and fun are experienced
hand in hand with horseback riding, hands on lessons, games on horseback, an end-of-camp performance, and learning about the
history and care of horses. Intermediate and advanced students will have the opportunity
to work on jumping courses of fences, timed canter sets, adjustment of strides, lead changes, equitation, and to show off
the property at local hunter shows. All riders will show in WNEC’s
Friday mock show to show off what they learned during their week of camp!
Each camper will
be assigned a horse for the week (or may bring his or her own horse or pony). Riders will learn about caring for their assigned
horse during session hours, including grooming and tacking, stall maintenance, feeding, and riding.
